Worked at The Centre for Literacy for three years, teaching literacy skills to children and adults. We used the Lindamood LIPS program (called ADD Auditory Discrimination in Depth at that time). This is a highly successful program that goes from the sound to the letter, rather than from the letter to the sound. It builds phonological awareness, which is a necessary skill for reading (decoding) success. We also used the Visualizing and Verbalizing Lindamood program for reading comprehension. Teaching reading is my passion :-) Non-readers are my specialty :-)
